Local AI Compatibility Checker for Browser TTS

Check WebGPU, WebAssembly, browser voices, Web Audio, and storage support before downloading a local text-to-speech model.

Private by design: files and text stay in this browser. No input text is included in analytics.

What the check can verify

This page detects browser APIs available to the current tab: WebGPU, WebAssembly, Web Audio, speech synthesis, and local storage. It can also show the storage quota estimate when the browser provides one. It does not benchmark your device or promise successful generation. Available memory, driver stability, browser limits, and the first model download still affect the result.

WebGPU and WebAssembly paths

VoiceAI Free prefers WebGPU with the fp32 Kokoro ONNX model, listed by the model repository at about 326 MB. When WebGPU is absent, the site can use a quantized WebAssembly model listed at about 92.4 MB. Additional runtime, tokenizer, voice, and cache data can increase total storage. Corporate networks and content blockers may prevent the required CDN or model request.

Recover from a failed local model load

Keep the tab open, verify a stable connection, close memory-heavy tabs, and retry in a current Chromium-based browser. If WebGPU fails, disabling that browser feature or using a WebAssembly-capable browser can provide the fallback path. You can always use Instant Voice for device playback without downloading the local AI model. Clear site data only as a last step because it also removes cached files and saved local projects.
